We've had a lot of fun getting ready for our Patchwork Party and know you're going to have fun, too. Below you'll find a preview of our block Town Center, our quilt Day Dreams, and a few notions that we found helpful.

Day Dreams

Dream about your summer garden with this delightful mix of pieced blocks and appliqued panels. Tucked among daisy-like coneflowers, you'll find butterflies, busy bees, and a garden snail or two.

Day Dreams is suitable for your favorite method of applique. Use hand techniques, fusible web with a machine button-hole stitch, or invisible machine applique with freezer paper and starch. The shapes have gentle curves and no points. It's perfect for a quick project or the beginning appliquer!

Our kit is available in a large throw, twin, queen, and king sizes and includes the pattern and all the fabrics you need to construct the applique panels, sashings, borders, and binding. You'll need to purchase the individual pieced block kits from the participating Patchwork Party stores.

A coordinating backing can also be purchased. Let us choose, or you can choose your favorite print from the Sanctuary collection.

Our pattern includes a layout diagram with full-size templates for the applique, how-to's for making the dimensional flowers, and instructions for putting it all together. You'll even find quilting motifs that can be machine or hand quilted or used as patterns for additional applique.

Day Dreams designed by Carolyn McCray and the team at Cottage Quilts.

Set L Templates by Marti Michell

This Plastic Template Set can be used to make all twelve of the Sampler Blocks. A paper template pattern is included with each block kit, but I highly recommend you use these plastic templates.

What a great timesaver and your block will come out perfect! I have to admit that piecing is not my favorite thing to do. I quit using templates when I stopped piecing by hand - a long time ago. But, I have to tell you that I LOVE THESE TEMPLATES!

They're so easy to use! Since the corners of the templates are engineered*, there is no guessing how to match up your pieces and no dog ears to trim. Your blocks will turn out to measure a perfect 12 1/2".

After testing the instructions for our Town Center block, I was so excited about these templates and I still am! I'll be using Marti Michell's Perfect Patchwork Templates for my piecing from now on.

*See the notched corners on the templates? This is what makes these templates so amazing!

Encylopedia of Patchwork Blocks

A collection of 109 blocks that have been designed for use with Set L and Set M Templates.

You'll find old favorites like Bear's Paw, Dove in the Window, and Rolling Star plus new blocks, a dozen baskets, signature blocks, and much more!

There's in-depth discussions on sewing the perfect 1/4 inch seam, how to use the templates, why they work so well, rotary cutting tips, block construction tips, quilt setting ideas, and patterns for 109 blocks.

Get the most out of your Set L Templates by purchasing this book!

Rotating Mat

There's no need to pick up your work and move it to make another cut. Simply cut, rotate the mat, and cut again. This 12", self-healing, rotating mat will save you lots of time and effort.

I tried out this mat when I made our test block. It came in very handy for rotary cutting the corners of my block pieces.

28mm Rotary Cutter

You'll want to use this small rotary cutter for cutting the corners of your block pieces.

The soft, cushioned handle fits your hand making it comfortable to use.

For both right and left-handed use!
