1 Million Pillowcase Challenge
Make a difference by making and donating a pillowcase.Cottage Quilts is one of the participating stores for American Patchwork and Quilting's 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge. Bring in a completed pillowcase and we will display it in our store window before sending it off to a deserving youth or senior organization. We have a free pattern in our store and pillowcase making workshops!
Would your group like to get together for a pillowmaking session? Contact Carolyn and we'll schedule our class room for you. Or, join us for one of our scheduled workshops. To make it easy for you, we have pillowcase kits and a free pattern.

SnippetsPillowcase WorkshopSaturday was our first Pillowcase Workshop. A big thank you to everyone who dropped by the store! And, another big thank you to everyone for your donations.Peggy whipped up a Travel Pillow using a heart embossed pink Minkee and a black and white zebra print for the cuff. It's so cute. it would make a great travel pillow, a child's pillow, or comfort pillow. I'm going to add the fabric measurements to our free handout, but in the meantime here they are: Travel Pillow Body: 30" x 20" Accent Trim: 30" x 2" Cuff: 30" x 8" Next, we will be working out the measurements for a Teen Body Pillow using Minkee! Pillowcase Party Workshops
We've set aside the following dates for a free Pillowcase Workshop.Saturday, February 6 from 2pm to 4pm
Tuesday, February 9 from 10am to 2pm
Friday, February 19 from 10am to 2pm
Saturday, March 20 from 10am to Noon
Wednesday, March 24 from 10am to 2pm
Tuesday, March 30 from 10am to 2pm
All you have to bring is fabric, or you can purchase one of our coordinated pillowcase kits. We'll have machines and sergers set up for you, a free pattern, and instructors to guide you step-by-step. After you make just one, you won't believe how easy it is to make a pillowcase with no raw edges!
Children ages 8 and up are welcome to participate, too! You can also reserve our class room for an exclusive Pillowcase Party for you and your friends. Just contact Carolyn to reserve your space and we'll have machines and an instructor ready for you.
Our goal is to donate 1000 pillowcases by the end of the year. With your help, we can do it!
